Herniated Disc

I worked 24 years on oil and gas drilling rigs in a physically demanding job. That takes a toll on the spine especially the lower back area. In late 2005 while unloading boxes from my truck I herniated a disc at L 4-5 and had a bulging disc at L 3-4. Since it was a work related injury we had to go through Workers Compensation routine. A very good neurosurgeon advised surgery right away but did allow me to try other therapy to see if I could get relief from pain.

After 2 ½ months of disc de-compression and chiropractic adjustments I saw very little change in my situation with conventional therapy. During the time they were working on my back we let them do all they could and didn't try anything other than those things they wanted done. Workers Comp doctors finally said it was time for surgery but we still weren't convinced and chose to do The KI Method instead.

We did fairly extensive work with The KI Method and within 6 weeks I was back on the golf course. Swinging a golf club isn't a heavy task but it does put lots of stress on the lower back. TKM didn't lower my golf score but it did allow me to continue playing. I think my lower back is in better shape now than it was before the herniated disc.
