Coma-Overdose

January 2007

When I walked into the Emergency Room foyer and identified myself the medical personnel quickly took me back to my wife.  The doctor turned to me and said, "I'm not going to lie to you.  She has less than a 50% chance of pulling through."

My wife, Martha, is a severe migraine sufferer.  In a time of great physical and emotional pain, she combined too many prescription medications in an effort to find relief.  The medications - along with other prescription drugs in her system given to her to eradicate a parasite she had picked up out of the country on a mission trip - caused her system to go into shock and begin to shut down.  By the time the doctors were caring for my bride, she was unable to breath on her own and was completely unresponsive.  After several hours in the ER, she was placed in the ICU that evening.   One doctor said, "If she pulls through, she will be in the hospital for a long time.  Actually, she might sleep for four of five days before she responds at all.  And, it is still likely she will have some degree of permanent damage from this ordeal."  This all occurred Sunday afternoon and evening.

Jana Smith arrived at the hospital Monday afternoon.  After Jana's initial examination and assessment of Martha's condition, she told me there was very little energy moving in Martha's system.  Jana started working on Martha about 3:00 P.M. and after 1 ½ hours of applying various sequences to promote energy flow Martha began to move on her own.  Jana continued to work on her through the evening and before Jana left at 1:00 A.M.  Martha was opening her eyes.  By Tuesday morning, Martha was fully responsive.  Her breathing apparatus was removed and by Tuesday afternoon she was talking, eating, and walking.  After being examined by the doctors on Wednesday morning, there was no medical reason to keep her in the hospital.  She was dismissed directly from ICU Wednesday afternoon and suffers no ill effect from this unfortunate life-threatening reaction.  We thank the Lord for Jana Smith.  Jana administered a kind of care that could potentially have been the key method of treatment that restored Martha's health.
