5% Chance To Live
This testimony is about Timothy Smith and could be very lengthy but I'll give you the short version, I promise. I got word that Bruce Smith's son (same last name as ours but no relation) was in very critical condition so I called to see if we might help. He told me Timothy had a heat stroke, heart attack and started having seizures. To make things worse he was 2 hours away from any real medical attention. I volunteered Jana to come help if the family would accept it. I explained to Bruce that Jana and I do a type of alternative medicine called The KI Method. Bruce said the doctors had given his son a 5% chance of even surviving. And because his body temp had gotten to 109 degrees for about two hours he could easily have brain damage at some level. Tim was in a coma, he was on a super-vent type of ventilator and was on continual dialysis because all body functions had shut down. The family was praying for a miracle but there was no change in his condition with conventional methods and medication. Bruce said they would try anything at this point. I called my wife, Jana Smith, and informed her that "we" had volunteered to help a friend. She didn't even hesitate. We called Glenn and Hillary King in Dallas and asked them to go to the hospital since we couldn't get to Ft. Worth for several hours and felt like the situation required immediate help. The Kings were allowed a very limited amount of time with the young man. Jana took off toward John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth without any knowledge of who she was helping or what the situation really was. Jana met with the ICU Director and showed her all her conventional medical credentials. The ICU Director allowed us into the ICU at anytime we wanted to be there. Jana started on Friday evening while I was still in route. All day Saturday and Sunday we continued to double team Timothy with sequence after sequence. Jana had to leave early Monday but I was able to do a little work on Monday morning. Timothy, 33 years old, normally weighed 250 pounds but had gained roughly 60 pounds of fluid because his organs had shut down. Within hours we could see very positive changes in all of his constantly monitored vital signs. One of the ICU nurses was an ex-military medic and voiced his agreement on the prognosis about the 5% chance of living. Within 12 hours Tim's organs started to function again and the nurse even asked if we could do something to help his "gut" get started because everything else was beginning to work. In 36 hours most of the excess fluid weight had been released and he was trying to wake from the coma. Timothy was in an induced coma when we left but his chances of survival and the atmosphere in the family waiting area was much improved. There was still doubt about his mental capacity and motor skills since he was not conscious yet. In three days we worked a combined total of 60 hours using The KI Method. I know this is not the recommended way to administer TKM but the situation called for desperate measures. It has been about three months since his heat stroke and associated problems. I spoke with Timothy's Dad yesterday and he said he wouldn't have given 5 cents for a recovery especially at this level. Timothy has gone back to work on an oil and gas drilling rig and drilled two wells since his release from the hospital. Yesterday he was out working on his Harley Davidson and doing just great. We were fortunate to have our hands on Timothy while God touched him and answered the prayers of a desperate family. It was a tough time for the family and the most emotional thing that has ever happened to Jana and me. Roy Smith (Contact info available on request) |
